About

“My works are mainly portraits, but though often inspired by real subjects, they are not only a portrayal of the subjects. My portraits talk about what is universal for all human beings, love and human connection, things which I believe that are able to transform humans, and also the entire world. My art is about that something in each of us which is eternal and infinite, that something which flows through everything and everyone, and keeps us together. Beyond my painted figures is my soul searching and my own process of self discovery, and painting accompanies my journey like a journal.

Lately I have been inspired by many wonderful women I met. They are strong and wild, but very feminine, they have that wonderful power which comes from within, from assuming who they are in the world, exactly as they are, fully and completely. It’s their authenticity which is most inspiring for me, but also the potential they hold. They have been learning and growing for many years, and now with all their gifts and new power, they started changing the world around them. They are so magnetic that they became the nucleus for communities, and the impact they have on the others and consequently on the whole world is amazing. They are magnificent human beings who are in contact with who they are, and in contact with nature.

Nature is also an important theme in my art. I grew up in the country in the middle of nature. I used to have a special place in the garden where I was drawing. The great walnut tree in the backyard was there to enchant me and protect me. The garden full of fragrant flowers and fruit was the realm of fairies and all the fantastic creatures I was drawing. After I returned to my birth country in 2008, I started living in a home just at the edge of the forest. In my daily long strolls with the dog, I started gathering pictures of bark, moss and lichens, flowers, insects and so many other wonderful things that nature created. The more I explored this world, the more I realized how magic and infinite was, and the more connected to nature and to myself I felt. Mother nature is so generous, soothing and healing for us humans, we only have to be open to receive all her gifts.”
